Print and Clay Symposium The Clay and Print symposium was a 3 day event organised by Lia Tajcnar and hosted by The Australian National University Ceramics Department in June, 2008. Virginia Walsh attended the symposium and writes about her 'three day romp through a cornucopia of printmaking techniques". The exhibition," Clay and Print: the Collaborative Process", brings together work created in response to the symposium.

Angela Valamanesh: Natural Histories
Helen Stephens Gallery: Since 1996 Angela Valamanesh ceramic works have consisted of groups of the most simple functional forms influenced by the colours of the arid landscape of South Australia. More recent works no longer make clear reference to functional ceramic objects but comprise of simple forms which make links between plant, human and animal.
Arafura Craft Exchange

Mino Japan
Sandy Lockwood work Siteline was also included in first selection of Mino Japan. 22 Australians were selected from 3,284 applications from over 50 countries. 3 Australians from the 22 selected made it through the second selection. Congratulations to Bridget Bodenham, Louisa Antico and Mel Robson. Li-Feng Lo from Taiwan, who is currently studying in Melbourne, was awarded the Special Judge's Award - maybe we can claim him, momentarily.
2008 Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award
Successful artists for the 2008 exhibition have been announced. The judge this year was Marea Gazzard and works were selected from 300 international entries.
Suncoast Clayworkers
Congratulations to the recipients of the Suncoast Clayworkers Awards - Anne Mossman was awarded the Open Class Ignition Award and Vipoo Srivilasa for the Sculpture Award.

2009 Indigenous Ceramic Art Award The Indigenous Ceramic Art Award was developed by Shepparton Art Gallery to support Indigenous ceramic artists and acknowledge the special industry of ceramic art practice. This biennial award exhibition will survey Indigenous ceramic art practice, demonstrating current developments in the field.

2008 Western Australian Premier's Indigenous Art Award The Western Australian Premier's Indigenous Art Awards is a newly established national art award to celebrate the diversity and richness of Indigenous art from across the country, as well as acknowledge the significant contribution Indigenous artists have made to Australian art and culture.
